Origins
According to ancient lore, Tynathria, often revered as the Mother of All or The First, emerged from the primal chaos that preceded the ordered universe. She is described as a magnificent dragon whose scales shimmered with the essence of all creation—fire, water, air, earth, and the mysterious void. Her breath gave life to the stars, and her tears filled the seas. From her unfathomable power, the first gods and the myriad dragon races were born.The Era of Creation
In the early eons, Tynathria's presence was a guiding force in the shaping of Golarion. She crafted its landscapes with delicate care—raising mountains, carving rivers, and seeding the fertile earth with life. Her children, the gods and dragons, thrived under her watchful eye, learning to harness the elemental energies that coursed through their veins.The Rise of Ambition
As the pantheon expanded, some gods aspired to reshape Golarion according to their individual desires. Conflicts arose, leading to celestial wars that scarred the land and threatened the balance of creation. Tynathria, in her infinite wisdom, intervened repeatedly to mediate and mend the rifts among her children. However, her interventions were not always welcomed by the gods, who began to view her immense power as a constraint on their freedom.The Betrayal
The turning point came when a secret council of gods and powerful dragons conspired to curtail Tynathria's influence. Led by a faction that desired to rule without her oversight, they crafted a plan to bind her in an enchanted slumber. Using artifacts of immense power and forbidden magic, they confronted Tynathria. The battle was cataclysmic, shaking the foundations of the universe. Tynathria fought with the fury of a storm, but even her might could not withstand the combined power of her progeny. Tynathria was bound with chains forged from the essence of the elemental planes, each link inscribed with runes of deep magic. These chains were not merely physical but extended into the fabric of her divine essence, suppressing her power and consciousness. The gods then sealed her away in an otherworldly prison known as Drakonaris, hoping to erase her from the annals of history and the memories of the world. Tynathria slumbers in Drakonaris, a place suffused with ley lines and guarded by spells of obfuscation and wards of incredible potency.Legacy and Prophecy
The enchanted slumber of Tynathria is maintained by a ritual performed once every century by a secret cabal of gods and dragons, renewing the magical bindings that keep her dormant. Legends foretell that if Tynathria were ever to awaken, she would either reclaim her dominion and restore her vision of harmony or, embittered by betrayal, bring about an era of destruction and retribution.The Whisper from the Shadows
In the present day, most of Golarion remains oblivious to the existence of Tynathria, with only a few scholars and sages versed in the old legends. Yet, even bound by the chains of an ethereal exile, The First's influence remained unbroken. Through lucid dreams, she reached across the dimensional barriers as an entity known as the Dark Queen, her voice a sibilant whisper in the dreams and thoughts of those deemed worthy. She offered a fraction of her boundless strength to the select few, asking for devotion in return. Her whispers were not just communications but an extension of her will, shaping her followers' desires and guiding their actions.Rise of the Church of the First
Among those who heard her call was a sect that rose to become the Church of the First. They recognized the voice in their minds as that of Tynathria, the Dark Queen, the original source of all power. Driven by her whispers, they gathered at the convergence of powerful magical ley lines to construct a grand temple—a sanctuary to honor her and serve as a focal point for her inevitable return. The Dark Queen's followers, committed to their faith, began to undertake sacrifices of immense power, believing these acts would strengthen their connection to her and hasten her awakening. Among these sacrifices was the unborn child of a drow empress, chosen to become a vessel for Tynathria's power. This child grew within the bounds of Drakonaris, becoming an avatar for the Dark Queen.Emergence of Tynathria’s Avatar
With the temple complete, a monumental ritual was conducted. It involved the sacrifice of untold treasures, countless souls, and powerful magical items. The culmination of this ritual marked the emergence of an avatar named after Her—Tynathria. She embodied the Dark Queen's will and power, organizing the Church, defending the temple, and accumulating resources for another, even greater ritual. This next ritual, dreamed and dictated by the whispers of the Dark Queen herself, promised to shatter the shackles of her slumbering imprisonment once and for all, allowing the Sleeper to awaken and for Tynathria to reclaim her rightful place as the ruler of all creation. The faithful of the Church of the First continue their devoted service, driven by the promise of sharing in the ultimate power of their Dark Queen when she rises again.
