Sessions 14-15: Thisteltop Underground

General Summary

In the next morning, right after Ionus lets a goblin female escape back down the stairs, the party follows her into Thisteltop Underground - a section of Thistletop not built by the goblins, but by someone else in the olden days. You first encounter the notorious bugbear Bruthazmus who for a reason unknown to you has taken sides and joined Nualia. He has also, apparently, has taken the king goblin wives for his own. You fight the wives and overcome the bugbear before you continue. A natural cave, some of it used by the goblins for storage of human trash, leads you to a liar of a tentacles creature - a Tentamort. You fight him with little success, until finally using light penetrating from outside in your advantage to scare him off into the deepest part of the cave. After scouting a few more rooms you enter a large hall serving as a cathedral to the Demon Goddess Lamashtu - the Mother of Beasts. In the underground cathedral you encounter a familiar foe - the crazed Quasit Erylium which eluded you in the Catacombs of Wrath below the town of Sandpoint. You fight her and two Yeth hounds guarding the cathedral and culminate your victory by burning down the statue of Lamashtu. You continue exploring the underground of Thisteltop, finding the private chambers of Nualia's gang including Nualia's private room where you also find her Journal, as well as a goblin nursery(!) and a goblin gallery of art(!!). Eventually you run into an a large room where you encounter Lyrie and Orik, two of Nualia's gang members. You make a deal with them and let them leave Thisteltop unharmed. They tell you Nualia has gone down below, and that she is insane with anger and hopes of revenge. You begin your way to the next level.
