Watchtower - Hesi
Northeastern Guard Post of Upēsis
Let's all grab the cold ones lads. We'll meet by the tower and have a drink in memory of Ulum! What once stood as a bog-standard watchtower near the edge of a small fishing colony is now only known for the murder of a man who guarded it. In 23 AA, Kt. Freidiks Ulum, a soldier in the Taisari Defense Force and the sole survivor of the Sei Expedition, was found dead there and so began the Hesi Blues. In the midsts of all the investigating and the conspiracies, the tower became known the settlement's inhabitants as Ulum's Tower.
Tribal Keep
Before the arrival of Kaupos Belaris and the Republic of Taisas, the tower served as a stronghold for the Sei Tribe. From there their leaders sent out orders and managed the fishing and scavenging outposts and shipments. At the end of the Conquest of the River, the last stand of the surviving tribesmen was at the fortified tower. After establishing Upēsis, the local garrison put the old tower to use. Dozens of old electronic devices were found from the tower, but the Sei had destroyed them during the fight.Construction
The watchtower was once a four-story building built from concrete and reinforced with steel beams. Large chunks of the building have collapsed, including a part of the ground floor's wall and the top floor. When the forces of Taisas claimed the territory, they started repairing it, turning it into one of their watchtowers. The gaps in the ground floor's wall were plugged with the debris that littered the nearby landscape. Instead of rebuilding the top floor, the Taisari created a sturdy steel scaffolding tower with a heating device to prevent the guards from getting hypothermia.
