Adventure Two, Session Seven Recap
While recovering after the thwarted auction house diamond heist, the party contemplated their next move from the expansive manor house of Lewelynn Figoras. The plan involved setting a trap for Lord Vorliss, to lure him out into the open so the party could retrieve both the Rod of Ryktuss and (the hopefully still living) Zelna.
As they availed themselves of Lewelynn's hospitality (and pool), Temerity continued to hear a voice in her head. She began to attribute it to the diamond, as well. The voice reminded her that its previous owner, Fortiss Meer, was a threat to them. As if on cue, they also discovered that Fortiss was watching them, and further, that he sent a messenger from the manor to his "accountant."
The party also met Lewelynn's twin sister, Evelyn, who made it very clear that she did not want her brother mixed up in this dangerous adventuring nonsense.
After a discussion with Shelby, Lewelynn's personal protector and major domo, they decided to detain Fortiss (who Manny was in the process of getting drunk, having cast a charm person spell upon him) within the Figoras family mausoleum. Within the museum also lay several items that might assist the party in their aims. Specifically two stone golems, shaped as beautiful women, and holding very real swords, and one "untested" giant iron cobra (left to guard the family tomb by Lewellyn's mother, Regina).
They tied up Fortiss Meer and briefly interrogated him, learning that apparently Teffa has a price on her head. But from whom? Fortiss mentions the Thieves Guild of Zanzakkar, a notorious group of non-human mercenaries and rogues operating out of the jeweled city of Varuumae Corona (on the southern continent of Hariel Minuta, nearly a thousand miles away). Teffa could only suspect that her family may be involved.
After leaving Fortiss in the crypt, the party went to speak with the captain of the city watch, a kindly man named Raffe Clarion, who promised them the help of the city guard in whatever plan they decide to enact in order to capture Vorliss.
After leaving the city guard watch post, the party took a carriage to the natural history museum, where they thought to perhaps host Lewellyn's "Liars Day Ball," now rechristened the "Diamond Ball." After speaking with the head curator of the museum, the group slowly concocted a plan to organize the party in a manner conducive to trapping a death knight, using the very Eye of Krytuss as bait.
The museum is currently hosting an exhibit on the pharos of the lost empire of Methanok, from the pre-historical age of Lumeria. The main piece being the sarcophagus of one INHOPTHEK, the "last emperor of Methanok," who freed his people from the subjugation of the dark lord Xanalanthi Xanaloth. The voice in Temerity's head informed her that she can "harness the power of the dead" like Vorliss, and the party thought they might enlist the aid of this mighty fallen warrior. However, Inhopthek might also become an enemy. They arranged to have his sarcophgus transferred to a secure room, just in case.
In the meantime, they sought out the assistance of one Perren of Yareus, the Lord of Life (and arch enemy of Ryktuss), at the temple of Yareus (where he serves as head librarian). Perren was quite happy to host visitors and talked their ears off about Inhopthek and Xanalanthi Xanaloth. He mentioned that the translation of the ancient writing on the otherwise bare sarcophagus might either read "Holding Inhopthek" or "Held by Inhopthek," leading Manny to believe that perhaps the occupant of the sealed tomb might be Xanalanthi Xananloth himself.
Now the party must decide if they are to face Vorliss with the possible assistance of a might friend or an equally mighty foe in the form of the mysterious occupant of the sarcophagus.

LEGEND OF INHOPTHEK
Recovered from the vast wastes of Veric, south of Varuum, his tomb was unmarked and seemingly hidden, even before the elements took their course. Once the tomb was entered, the excavation team encountered various failed traps set to dissuade intruders from plundering the crypt. When found, the mysterious chamber of the pharaoh contained no treasures, but a simple, unadorned sarcophagus, sealed with multiple locks, some of which seemed to have at one time been set with arcane wards that had long worn off. A strange mystery presented itself, for how strange is it that such a simple tomb, bereft of apparent treasure, would have so many protections placed upon it. Perhaps raiders had long ago plundered its treasures, though no sign of previous intrusion had been found. We wouldn’t even know the identity of the sarcophagus’ occupant if it weren’t for the few faded words still legible on its surface. Inhibistis Inhopthek. “Holding Inhopthek.” - translated by Perren, priest of Yareus, the Lord of Life.
