Baron Navac the 3rd

The Barony of Rocha sits in within The City of Cornelia, sometimes called "The Ruby City" or even "The City of Blood," and is ruled by the current Baron, Navac Rocha The Indomitable III.
Technically, the Barony of Rocha is far larger than any comparable barony, and this is predominantly due to the ancestral baron (and all barons following) having been stripped of his title (as Duke) and "demoted" as punishment for his part in the uprising against the crown in the 1st Usurper War. This "slight" has been a bone of contention for each successive baron since Navac I (the "architect" of the "rebellion").
The Baron's keep, Agate, overlooks the broken shores of the Crimson Bay, so named for the destroyed islands ringing the bay (and the sharks that infest their waters), which have been the downfall of many lesser pilots.
Navac is currently unmarried and has no heir. The Barony is somewhat of a monarchy, and succession has traditionally been through blood. This is not always the case, but more often than not, a Rocha sits upon the throne. Navac is open to brokering a treaty with foreign powers through marriage, and it's rumored that he intends to take a Lentokki bride. But these may just be nasty rumors (as the Lentokki are not well loved in the west).
Navac is not considered to be the most charismatic of leaders, so thankfully he has his sister Ranelle Avac Rocha to lean on in that department. Ranelle often acts as the public face of the Barony, and unlike her brother, is a quite gifted orator. Some believe the younger Ranelle may become the regent ruler of the realm, if something were to happen to Navac. However, Ranelle suffers from the same issue as her brother. She is also unmarried and has no children of her own.
Critics of the Baron often enjoy spreading malicious rumors as to the bizarre closeness of the siblings' relationship, but never have any of them been paid any real credence. In truth, it seems, the two really need each other, as they shore up each other's weaknesses. Ranelle has been courted (as has Navac) by many of the lords and ladies of the Freemantle. To date, none have been even remotely successful.
