Curson Drel
Shadowy leader of the Thornblack Assassins' Guild. It is uncertain if Curson is one person, or many people using the same moniker. Those who have met him (and lived) all describe a remarkably different person. It's just as likely that Drel, a master of disguise, simply puts on a "look" when he goes out in the open.
Some proffer the rumor that Drel is, in fact, a changeling.
Curson has been the head of the Thornblacks for more than twenty years, having displaced the previous leader (one of a blood lineage), Blaylock Thornblack. Blaylock was a controversial figure, as unorganized as he was threatening. Curson assassinated him in public (however masked) and instantly took the reins of the guild. So violent was his assault on Blaylock that none dared oppose his rule. Not to mention the fact that under his regime, the Thornblacks have thrived in a manner they hadn't since the rule of Blaylock's great grandfather, Rikus.
It is considered bad luck to invoke Curson's name, as it allegedly places his "arcane eye" upon the speaker. And one never wants Curson's attention pointed their way. Instead, most within the guild simply refer to Curson as "Capa" or "Leader."
