The First Great Pilgrimage

The first great pilgrimage to Celene, at least the first one in any recorded history, took place approximately twelve thousand years ago, before any major nation rose upon Hariel Majour. The leaders of many scattered tribes recognized the divine power emanating from the holy mountain, and they organized their clans to pay homage to the great bastion of the gods.   It is unclear if this pilgrimage was peaceful or rife with conflict between the tribes. What is known is that none ever were able to claim, nor did they likely attempt, any dominion over the greatest wonder of the known world.   The pilgrimages lasted for untold years, one after the other, and it was this cycle that eventually brought the tribes together to form the original nation states of Hariel Majour.
