QUEST: Hel's castle
Standing atop the mountain, above the clouds the hot air rises from below making your clothes billow in the wind. With the city of Nessus behind you, you stand facing the Empress's Cathedral. A steep dropoff at your feet, surely to your spiked rock death, only a thin blackrock bridge crossing to the Fortress of the same stone. The cathedral stands towering over you with 2 spires and a large heavy gate, closed you wonder even if Thursday could open this by himself. The only thing more intimidating than the cathedral are the mountains behind it. Even standing here, atop the clouds, You feel like you can't fly over these mountains, let alone climb them.
To open the door they need a combined strength check of 40.
First Floor
Entry
Spanning over a swirly silver mist is a bridge in a dark room. Opposite of the cavity is a double door, depicting a tree.
Vestibule
A vestibule leads to another door, a straight small but wide hallway depicts a battle. Pure fire being tamed by a lady half made of blue. The dead, lost and wandering, being guided to a safehaven, a life beyond the veil and a place of rest.
Great Entry
A large hallway with oversized iconography and a large chandelier, although it isn't lit. Large stained glass windows illuminate this room.4 buffed gloomstalkers ambush the adventurers.
Guest Hall
A large ballroom stands barren with a couple of old tables dumped into the side of one corner of the room. Alkilith covers the 4 large windows on the south side. An Amnizu sits here on a lone chair, pestering 3 Babau.Dining Hall
A large dining hall with a dirty table sits here, between the access ways in the sides, where the servants await with hot food are 3 slumbering NullifiersServant's Quarters
Several small rooms are home to small fiends, imps and tieflings that are frightened of the adventurers and hide under their beds. They have scrolls of protection (undead) and a total of 890 GP.Hall of Faith
Dedicated to Hel Person.Two rows of black stone pillars marbled with white veins support the vaulted ceiling of this hall, the floor of which is polished to a mirror-like sheen. Ornate brass braziers rest at the feet of four of the pillars, and faint music fills the hall.
When entering:
The four braziers ignite, their bowls filling with pale flames that coalesce into dancing, humanoid forms. The glow from the flames glints off the north wall, where a towering mosaic of stained glass depicts a maelstrom of color, within which are nine symbols. The image shifts even as you stare at it.
Chapel
Fight Kiruko here. Worships the ash tree inside.
