Travel

Travelling through Gran Kora can be dangerous and exciting here are the rules:

Travel speed

Normal travel speed is at 24 miles per day (in high visibility areas, like fields, this is twice the horizon line). If you are travelling through difficult terrain your speed is halved (this is negated by a road or the favored terrain feature). If you are travelling through very difficult terrain your speed is halved again (and also in combat) and you cannot take mounts into these areas.   In terms of travel speed, your speed is rounded up for creatures that only have a movement speed of 25 and in order to travel at double pace you need a movement speed of 60. Keep in mind that if any unmounted creature in your party has 2 points of exhaustion or any non-mount creature is carrying another creature, it will half your travel speed too.

Options for Travelling

Exploring the world you have 3 options.

Travelling

You have a direction, a set destination or a landmark you are following. You roll a survival check to see if you can succesfully find your way without getting lost.

Exploring

You stay in the same position and try to descern as many features in the nearby area. This can be used to explore an area from 6-24 miles (depending on your travel speed) where you will discern the biome, rivers and depending on a Survival (WIS) check; Camps, Quests, Loot and other points of interest. You will also always find food and water if there is any available in the area.

Hunting

You can also hunt the nearby area in order to find any creatures. This can be used to find enemies that you may want to hunt for loot or XP but also pets to tame or to find the lair or specific creature a quest may prompt you to find traces of.
