Gran Lorien

Created by

The realm of Gran Lorien, called the Star of Lorien by her scholars, is a land of fantasy, magic and danger. The known world consists of two continents and the many islands that line the stretch between them. The two continents are known as Eldranore, to the east, and Auld Bastila, to the west.     The continent of Eldranore is split into five principalities. In its centre lies Averlyn, a kingdom with vast forests and farmland, with mountains lining its northern and western border. To the west of Averlyn lies Carcasonne, a small and ever-changing coastal kingdom where piracy runs rampant. The northmost kingdom of Eldranore is a frigid tundra known as the Barrowdowns. The inhabitants of the frozen north face undead and dragons as they fight to survive in the harshest of environments. The eastern coastline of Eldranore is known as Lyrethia, a sister kingdom to Averlyn and a country of great culture. Her people dedicate their time to the study of magic and the arts. To the south lies the desert kingdom of Zul Garahn, a land of arid sand dunes, bustling bazaars and lush jungles.     West of Eldranore lies a group of small island kingdoms known as the Glimmering Isles. Though small in size, they boast robust, unique cultures vastly different from that of the mainlands. The island kingdoms are Ikamura, Middlemere, Bleakrock, Miravia, and Cael Tyhaera.     Auld Bastila is made up of three great powers. The Seven Baronies sit at its centre, a group of feudal colonies each run by a lord and their noble house. To the south, beyond the Ironpeaks, lies Halasatra, a sweltering land of jungles and deserts that trace their ancestry back to a draconic origin. Far to the north is a stretch of wild terrain known as the Stormlands. Few make the journey through the Midnight Veil to reach the frozen north. The Stormlands are fraught with mystery and danger, where beasts roam free and giants rule. Surrounding Auld Bastila are numerous islands, each with their own mystique. The unruly Westerly Wilds, the volcanic Bowbreaker Isle, the teeming forests of Mirrorgarden and the crystalline deserts of Castaregna, each island holds its own treasures and its own dangers.
