Revolution
The Gnomes of The Mountainhomes initiate an ultimately successful series of work stoppages aimed at securing more political and economic freedom from the Dwarven majority.
Long second class citizens in the vast underground cities of the Dwarves, the Gnomes rose in both population and wealth compared to the Dwarves as the two races recovered from Seventh Thalassan Crusade. However the Gnomes felt these changes did not result in an accompanying increase in status for their people, so in -372 a well-connected Gnome named Severin Fragglecrux persuaded groups of Gnomes across the Mountainhomes to go on strike against their Dwarven employers, with the stated command of being able to start their own Noble Houses and to be named to higher positions in the Guilds. The strikes began on 1/1/372 and continued through the third month, when the Dwarven military began to intimidate the Gnomes and force them back to work. The movement regrouped and began actions as well as protests again in the fifth month, more organized and armed with magical trinkets that allowed them to evade Dwarven enforcers with trickery and cunning. The protests began to evolve into riots early in the seventh month, as Dwarves began to take sides for and against the Gnomes out of frustration at the continuing unrest. Due to the large amount of Gnomes working administrative and technical jobs, many Guilds found themselves paralyzed and behind on quotas. For this reason they ended up siding with the strikers, forcing a conclusion favorable to the Gnomes on 11/7/372. To this day, 11/7 is celebrated by Gnomes each year as Fragglecrux day.
