The Myth of the Cosmos

In the beginning of time, there was a single being of omniscience and all power that was left to wander the void of nothingness. This being was the essence of all chaos that wandered in an infinite age. He then sorted himself and became neutral and out of his body formed an orb of chaos. Inside this orb of chaos he divided the elements within into the four elements, water, earth, fire, air, and ether. Out of the ether, which comprised of most of the orb, he created the Mythos. Whatever this being imagined and thought of, however, came into existence and was created as a part of reality. He summoned light, the earth, the mountains, the stars in the night sky, the atmosphere where we breath from, and the life that creeps and rules over the lands. After summoning all of this, he was left with the loneliness of himself. In regards of this he made helpers from the gases left from the creation of life, and named them his watchers. These Watchers would be the ones to watch over the cycle of life and death created, and the order of nature. There were two Watchers in all, and both of them had their own separate creations to represent what they watched over. The first Watcher, Gilmeer, was the watcher of Life. He was the watcher of things coming into existence and their destinies and potential that came with the life breathed into them. The second Watcher was named Faghelra. She was the watcher over the afterlife and the dimensions of which each being went to according to their standing with the other watchers. The both of them together formed the Halian Plane, which was where they wandered. In the waters of the Halian Plane, the Watchers grew fond of each other and had made a family with each other. They both had a total of 9 children and each of them were raised in the Mythos while the watchers watched over them as they grew. However this was before the Mythos was separated into the 3 Ethereal planes. As they grew they learned all there is to life and death, the cycle of love and hatred with each other. Half of them wanted a balance of the two, but the other half either feared death or embraced it became the cause of death. Eventually they fought with each other and the ether was enveloped in chaos and the blood of the gods. After ages of fighting, when they were exhausted the Watchers came and separated those who were of chaotic intentions and those of lawful intentions and those of evil and good intentions. Then their souls were harvested and shaped to become the very outer planes of existence. The war that occurred in the Ether also left remnants of supernatural energy that became concentrated and radiated throughout the realm. Soon by the end of their war, the energy also known as Arcenergy became explosive and split Mythos into three, Feithos, Grathos, and Umbrathos. The plane in which the Watchers reside and judge the souls of the deceased is called Agnoss. From there a soul would be sent into a plane made from the souls of the watchers many offspring. The Material plane of existence known as Grathos was created with the idea of the Father for a human race created in his likeness to roam it and explore its possibilities. However due to the descendants of the Watchers dividing the cosmos and quarreling in the ether. The humans had been caught in the crossfire. Some would say that the cause of the War of the Planes was due to Man choosing to disobey The Father and exploiting the power of the Ether, the Fruit of Lore. Unleashing this caused an uncontrolled radiance of raw arcana that divided man along with the Ether and forcing most of them to live among the various sixteen children of the Watchers. Their likeness was then fused with the gods and eventually developed into the 36 races of the Universe. Remainder of Man that was left on the Material plane remained human and unaffected however they became all too familiar with the energy left as a remnant of the War of the Planals. As time passed, along with the energy of the arcane came deviations of the Alignments. New ideas were birthed and different paths, including the Lawful, the Chaotic, the Good, and the Evil, came into existence among humans. Some ruled over others and became savage against one another, while some ruled with benevolence and order within their nomadic families and eventually their tribes. Some became too curious and cursed themselves through the careless handling of the arcane and became variations of their race, hence the dwarves the halflings, and the goliaths.

Summary

The Primordial Being

Essence of Chaos
The myth begins with a singular, omniscient, and omnipotent being wandering the void, representing pure chaos.   Self-Sorting into Neutrality: This being organizes itself into a state of neutrality, resulting in the formation of an orb of chaos.   Creation of the Elements:
Division of Elements
Within the orb, the being divides the chaos into five elements: water, earth, fire, air, and ether.   Creation of the Mythos: From the ether, which makes up most of the orb, the Mythos is created, where the being’s thoughts and imaginations become reality.
Creation of the World and Life
Summoning of Light and Life: The being creates light, the earth, celestial bodies, the atmosphere, and life forms.   Loneliness and Creation of the Watchers: To alleviate loneliness, the being creates two helpers, the Watchers, from the remaining gases of creation.
The Watchers:
Gilmeer: Watcher of Life, overseeing creation and potential destinies.   Faghelra: Watcher of the Afterlife, managing the dimensions where beings are sent based on their deeds.   Halian Plane: The realm where the Watchers reside and raise their nine children.
The Children of the Watchers:
Conflict Among the Divine Offspring: The children grow, learn about life and death, and eventually become divided over their views on balance, leading to a war.   The War in the Ether: The conflict results in the spilling of divine blood and chaos in the ether, and the remnants of this war become supernatural energies.
Creation of the Planes:
Division into Three Ethereal Planes: The war ends with the separation of chaotic, lawful, good, and evil offspring, creating the outer planes from their souls.   Arcenergy and the Splitting of Mythos: The leftover energy from the war, Arcenergy, becomes explosive and splits Mythos into three planes: Feithos, Grathos, and Umbrathos.
Material Plane (Grathos)
Creation of Humans: The Father creates humans in his likeness to explore the possibilities of the Material Plane.   The War of the Planes: Human disobedience and exploitation of the Ether lead to the War of the Planes, where humans are caught in the conflict among the divine beings.
The Evolution of Humanity and Races:
36 Races of the Universe: Humans caught in the war become fused with divine essences, leading to the creation of various races. Some remain on the Material Plane, others evolve into different forms such as dwarves, halflings, and goliaths due to interactions with the arcane energy.

Key Concepts

  • Chaos and Order: The transition from pure chaos to a structured cosmos, with elements, life, and planes of existence.
  • The Ether and Mythos: The central medium through which divine imagination shapes reality, eventually splitting into multiple planes.
  • The Watchers and Their Progeny: Divine beings that oversee life and death, whose offspring play a crucial role in the cosmological order and conflict.
  • Arcenergy: A residual, supernatural energy from divine conflict, influencing the division of planes and the evolution of life.
  • Creation and Fall of Humanity: The creation of humanity in the divine image, their involvement in cosmic events, and the resulting transformation into multiple races.
  • This myth serves as the foundational narrative for the world's creation, the origin of different planes, and the introduction of various races and cosmic forces within the universe.
