Brackspawn
Brackspawn are an Unheavened, aquatic mortal species native to the Mare Temenae in Dis. They trace their origins back to the Brass Demiurge, and look like bearded Axolotls.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Bearing the same general body structure of a Dust Man, including large heads and hands, but share little else. The tallest speciments are no more than three feet tall, and
Their head blends elements of cat- and cuttlefish, with long barbles that increase in mass and number with age, in adults adults eclipsing the mouth like an unshorn beard. Beneath the barbles is a wide mouth with small, flat teeth but incredibly powerful jaws, suited well for their diet of mostly crustaceans. The whiskers are largely to stuff live prey in their mouth while reserving all four hands for climbing or swimming.
Brackspawn are amphibious, and breathe through their skin, which is covered in a faintly glowing, bioluminescent slime.

Sexual dimorphism is limited, with males (and some females) having bioluminescent bacteria in the barbles, which can be brightened or dimmed at will.
