Varus the Everwarmth

General Description.

  God of peace, mutual aid, and fiery protection, Varus Everwarmth is venerated by the majority of Epish's inhabitants, known for his benevolence and fairness. His divine form resembles that of a tiefling with a radiant aura and wings that appear to be engulfed in flames. He frequently sends his fire fox, an emissary, to communicate with his followers.
The majority of his followers are survivors of the Calamity of Ice, who express sincere gratitude for his sacrifice. That being the case, this god has diminished inflence on other continentes apart from Epish.  

Artefacts.

Varus Everwarmth's rings are displayed in the Witgard sanctuary. It is said that each ring confers significant power upon its bearer, but they are carefully guarded by the Church of the Everwarmth.

    Mercy and understanding are highly valued. Followers are encouraged to show kindness and clemency in their actions.

How to Dishonor and Diminish His Influence:
  • Harm or Cause Unnecessary Suffering:
    Acts that harm or cause unjust suffering to others, such as theft, torture, or mistreatment, are considered an affront to Varus Everwarmth's legacy.
  • Not Intervening When Requested by Others:
    Omission in the face of someone's request for help is seen as a violation of the principle of protection and compassion.

Holidays

Everwarmth Day (August 7th)

On this day, the faithful hold processions in honor of Varus Everwarmth, sharing stories of his benevolent deeds. They offer mountain flowers as a symbol of gratitude and watch the sunset, celebrating the god's sacrifice for the well-being of Epish.
 

Warm Winter Day (December 22nd):

At the beginning of winter, people gather in their homes to celebrate Varus's sacrifice and to seek his protection against the cold. The event coincides with the "Warm Winter Week." Homes are adorned with Everbloom flowers, symbols of gratitude and remembrance.

Personal history

Before becoming a god, Varus Everwarmth was a brave adventurer. His sacrifice was crucial in defeating the Calamity of Ice and preventing the entire continent from freezing. As a result of his valor and the testimony of those he helped in life, the population began to worship him as a form of gratitude. With the power of prayers, Varus Everwarmth chose to be reborn as a god, caring for his followers and protecting Epish. After his death, orange flowers resembling flames, called Everblooms, began to sprout in Epish, seen by his followers as a divine sign from the god.
