Blood Scraps

In the Abyss, some warriors are expected to fight to earn their rank in the armies. The winner of the fight progresses to this rank, while the loser usually ends up losing a limb and replaced with a dangerous weapon, such as a large metal shard, then pushed back in the ring. If they show promise they're even revived from their death to battle again.
