Lizardfolk
Lizardfolk are one of the more marginalised races in Greyacre, however they mostly choose to live in isolated swampy lands. Their lairs can usually be found fairly near settlements - look for cliffs or waterfalls and you won't be too far. Their predatorial and defensive instincts also means they don't often get scared of trespassers and will always be up for a fight.
Although many consider them feral creatures, studies carried out by Vardath Cindercrest (and later published as a book titled "Behind the Green Scales") reveal that lizardfolk are fairly calm in their day-to-day life, and can even communicate a little with other races. An excerpt from the book on the matter:
"It's the presence of strangers that gets their backs up and flips that switch, of which it'll take hours for them to calm down again. All I can say is, if you ever find yourself lost in lizardfolk territory, you better have a gift prepared or may the gods shine their light on you. For those bearing gifts, I'd suggest a strong weapon of some kind, or even just a promise with some kind of token to prove your intent."
Religion
Most lizardfolk worship the tanar'ri lord, Sess'innek, deity of civilization and dominion. His symbol was a green, clawed, reptilian hand. Sess'innek took the form of a six-armed lizard king with brown vestigial wings. Each of his six hands wielded a longsword of potent magical power. Most lizardfolk will never follow into the life adventuring or travelling for they see it an insult on their god - how could they ever attempt to reach His great heights or become that powerful. Therefore, their main purpose on this world is to live life in his word through survival.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
