Session 11: Delving into the abandoned mine Report

General Summary

Our heroes started this week at a campsite, some half a day travel from Greenmill. Their morning journey was simple, and James was observant enough to spot many hidden tracks heading into the forest off the road. With a stick in the road, they continued their journey to Greenmill to ask locals of any rumours.   In the humble village, a pair of fortune tellers sit outside the three-story inn, The Stepping Brewery. Hank opts to sit with the raggedy teller first, who offers some specific advice to our angelic hero. Next, James is given some hopeful, yet worrying news about the location of his father. Maku-Maku asks the other, more traditional teller, for some advice, yet that advice comes at the extortionate cost of 5gp! He declines to the benefit of his heavy pocket o' cash.   In the tavern, the party discuss the obvious fact that angels eat angel clouds. And also ask the serving wench of the mine they're about to visit. She lays out the knowledge she has, that the mine was once of the dwarven clans, but it was cleaned out by the orcs in the war and used as a network under the mountain, so it was collapsed some time after the war. Since then, it has remained abandoned.   With information in hand, our heroes head to the mine, leaving Reginald to help Kalim take the cart and Celeste to Kalim's home. Approaching the mine, our heroes spot three scouts sat outside a mine entrance. After some deliberation, the PCs rush the three, only to be counter-rushed by two other hiding archers. FIGHT! After some battle, the five scouts are dispatched with.   Inside the mine, the PCs enter a room with a broken lift, a caved in mine-track, and a few other directions to take. Angelo scouts the rooms for life and returns empty handed. Pressing on, the PCs trigger a trap! A boulder falls from the ceiling and chases them. Most of them get out of the way, except one poor soul that takes the full brunt of it. Now hidden in some get-away rooms, a handful of disgruntled bandits emerge with sleep in their eye to complain about the noise. Another fight! In honesty, our heroes had their asses handed to them by some guys in pyjamas.   After the fight, one is turned into a goat, and the another is knocked unconscious. Everyone knows that keeping 33% of enemies alive is what a 'good' party would do. The one turned into a goat is turned back, and the PCs discover his name is Ogir and he has a wife called Dama. They suggested he goes to Kelpy the baker in Norcastle to ask for a job. Our heroes rest up a little, while they decide what to REALLY do with Ogir towards the end of the 2nd of Hirudo.
