Session 21: Heading south Report

General Summary

Our heroes started this episode by bolting the fort and camo they just made to the cart to make a fortified cart on the sides. Cool. Fresh in the morning, they set off on their journey to Pendle. On the way, the following happens:
  • An arrow with "Almost got ya Reggie" hits the side of the cart
  • Someone is selling a table of veg for 1cp per piece. Hank gets Angelo to take 2gp in a little bit of paper explaining that they bought the lot
  • Taking a shortcut that James knew about, they happen across a dilapidated farm and 3 burnt figures over flames.
Reggie follows some tracks and learns that they head into the house. Inside the house, there are stairs going up and stairs going down. Angelo goes all the way from top to bottom. Orion and James go up to the top floor and find a rat with a bronze necklace. James tries putting a pot over it, and just about manages to. He tries grabbing the necklace but ends up punching the rat, who drops the necklace and runs away. Downstairs, Hank spots the 'angelic' pentagram on the floor and stands in the middle. Three wights appear and want to take Hank with them. They instantly paralyze him as the others rush down. Eventually, they defeat the wights and take a short rest. A few hours later the PCs long rest.   Back on their journey the next morning, our heroes come across a man selling small game roasted, who gives them some for free. Then, half a day from Pendle, they find some guards hanging wanted posters up (75gp by the Lochburns). Reggie feels like the half orc lady, with filed tusks, is familiar, although he's not sure where from. The guards tell them of a shortcut, which they take.    As they approach where a bridge is supposed to be, the lake gets all misty, and from nowhere a merrenoloths appears over the lake, offering to take them on a journey. Angelo is the only one that can understand it, so translates. It offers Hank to take a ride, while the others can become rich beyond their wildest dreams. He declines, for now. The boat drifts away.   Heading back to have a go at the guard, and he thinks they're crazy. The bridge is obviously still there, they can see it in the distance. Next time they go that way, the bridge is indeed there, they cross and head to Pendle for the afternoon.   At Dean's Table in Pendle he gives them 3gp to take a crate of lanterns south to the Dean's Table in Cliffbeach. Joe also buys some herbs for 6sp. They decide to check out the Lochburn Family, head to the gate, and Orion casts Locate Object, revealing the Rod of Absorption and his Goat Figurine both to be in the manor house. An old drunk man outside tells them that they see the Bonnellon Family cart coming by now and again.   Angelo sneaks through the gate to have a browse, and we leave it there at 4pm on the 15th of Hirudo.

Missions/Quests Completed

  • The PC want to keep an eye out for the half-orc lady, and question the Lochburns.
  • The PCs started investigating the Lochburns and their creepy house
  • The shopkeep at Dean's Table gave them 3gp to deliver some lanterns in a crate to the Cliffbeach branch of Dean's Table
