Session 23: Lochburn it all down Report

General Summary

Our heroes start the session with their hands on the heavy key and Lady Lochburn's eyes fixed upon them. They discuss her game and agree to help her in exchange for the key to the figurine. She tells them of her distain for her husband and what he brought upon this family.
Satisfied, they head to the greenhouse. Inside, the body rots and vines grow thick. James peels them back and some of them climb in. Reggie is pulled under into the roots as the corpse is touched. There's a big battle and the PCs use fire to get rid of this floral beast. Its vines are reduced to ash. Scouring the greenhouse, they find evidence of experimenting with plants, an eye, and holes in the skull of the gardener. Returning to Lady Lochburn, she's disgusted and gives them the key (from another box).
They open the outhouse and get the goat figurine. There's a sarcophagi, Joe opens it, and there's a ladder going down. Climbing down, they arrive at the crypt. There are 7 more sarcophagi here. James and Reggie try opening one each and Reggie does. 5 ghostly beings emerge and there's a big fight. After the fight, they climb some new stairs up to a stone panel. Pushing it slowly reveals they're under the priest at the alter. James busts it open!
In the church they... talk to the priest. He tells them what he thinks of the little girl ("she meddles in things she shouldn't"). He doesn't have much to say, so they return back down to the crypt.
Back in the crypt and the rest of the sarcophagi are opened. Skeletons are revealed in all. Orion needs his slaves so he heads back to get them from the cart.
In the basement, there's a HUGE coffin, wrapped in heavy magical chains. It jumps and jumps and incoherent shouts come from inside. They leave the coffin and the zombies scope out the doors. One opens. Upstairs they find the pantry in the kitchen, but return back when they can't go further.
Our heroes need to regain some resources so they start a long rest in the crypt. Mwahahaha.
