Session 40: Sailing Downstream Report

General Summary

Our heroes started the session on their journey down stream in The Haunted Lady. Morris is at the helm and driving this vessel to Cliffbeach. The party set about with some downtime activities:

• Kevan works with Archibald and Grayson to move every single bone and find any other items down there
• Frank does nought
• Isabella drags some mattress and bedding up to the top deck and sleeps in the music box room
• Jovial investigates the sword and finds that it's a rapier of life stealing
• Joe searches the ship and tries to learn how the invisibility properties work, but comes up with nothing

At the first bridge at early dawn, the party stop for shopping at Yarrin and ship disappears. The invisibility effects and kicked back in. They do a quick swoop of the bridge, then head to the town. The town is quiet and the buildings destroyed. Frank buys some arrows and a t-shirt.
The PCs decide to consult with Sir Azer - he remembers Joe and is welcome to see him, even if he looks a little unkept. He's thankful for the party's help and talks again about his displeasure in the higher-up parties. He once again recounts that evening and what he saw, giving them as much information as he could. Kevan gives him a white gem that they found to help get the town back on its feet. For some reason they ask what his mother's name is - it was Dura and she fought in the war.
Back on the boat now the party talks for a long time on how to get past this bridge. The final decision is to part the waters under the bridge, form a ramp, then Isabella will form another ramp on the other side. It works! Fair play, that was some good planning.
On the next patch of downtime Isabella makes a gold ring from some trimmings and bit and Joe learns to operate the cannons they need lightning on the runes. While down here, Joe notices they pass over land, and it's true! A bridge lies just behind them - it seems like they crossed through or over it. Kevan gets Morris to go back a few times to test it and they certainly do pass through it!
Finally, our heroes begin to approach Cliffbeach. It's warm and inviting, the large ships are impressive and the dock sprawling. Annnnnd they're snapped to a small fishing village where the clouds are heavy and folk are preparing for a festival. They speak to a drunk fella and he tells them 'Welcome to Bridgeford!'
