Session 41: Pitstop in Bridgeford Report

General Summary

Our heroes started in the evening arriving at Bridgeford. As a dolphin, Kevan heads back to the ship to check on the ship - it's all fine. He heads back again as a giant octopus to get the clock. In the meantime Isabella casts sending to Lanstone Gringk and asks if anything weird has happened - it hasn't. They try using the clock with the drunk fella on the jetty - he asks multiple questions about why made them forget things, what happened, etc, but the clock just says it can only help them find someone.
In town, they get a room and an ale at The Broken Boar Inn and talk to Huge Hocio. He's excited for the festival and will be heading up soon. He tells them that the Phoulwish Family paid for board for everyone this evening. Kevan returns as an octopus and scares the living daylights out of Hocio.
Everyone heads to the festival and looooads of things happen that are easier to list. In a rough time order:

• A fake adventurer taunts them as they enter
• Frank finds his sons! However, there are only two of them and they have no recollection of there being a 3rd or having a mother.
• Joe and Frank try their luck at the archery contest, but believe it to be a con because they lose.
• Jovial performs for people, and then talks to them and learns that a red dragon has been travelling overhead recently and that there's a witch to the south. He speaks to Ziri, a scholar from Cliffbeach, Richye a halfling guard at Bridgeford, and Rodeba a half-orc waitress from Bridgeford. Everything seems a bit suspicious because no one else seems to care.
• Isabella casts sending to Carla and they learn that there was definitely three sons. They said Mary's friend owned a tavern in Cliffbeach.
• Joe takes part in the oiled pig chasing contest and absolutely smashes it. He wins some silver coins from this.
• There's a food eating contest that Frank, Jovial and Kevan take part in against a Hill Giant! They win by a handful of potatoes.
• Kevan does bobbing apples
• They all get a little drunk with constant free rounds of ale!
• Isabella flies back to the inn in her drunken state.

Jovial wants to come and perform for the Phoulwish Family, but they are having absolutely none of it. They head off in a hurry from the festival and say their fairwells. They enter a cart belonging to The West Independent Caravan Company and Joe sees a face that's all too familiar to him.
With the evening drawing to a close, they all rest around the campfire in various hazes when a few people surround them and Jovial gets a big knife in the back. We leave it close to midnight on Kord Day. Where have all the locals gone?

Our heroes learn of a witch and a dragon nearby, and then get attacked by the personal guards of the Phoulwish Family.
