Session 7: First few contracts Report

General Summary

Our heroes started this week having a well earned rest after defeating the medusa. A quick rest and they were on their way back to Kelpy's Krusty Loaf. His son was resting, but he wasn't bleeding. They saved him! They discussed fun names for a baker, and he liked Kelpy Haldo-ugh. He's attending a bread conference in Cliffbeach soon. Key speakers are Brom Simplebun, Loafy Larry, Mip Chuey, and the organiser Ker-Ve-Tid Vezildroft. Our heroes did the noble thing and turned down any reward for free bread when they like. He wrapped up a loaf and some cinnamon rolls.
On their way to the pisser, they're accosted by a man with a cage of chickens. He's given a gold for some reason and leaves, probably to make them fight. Then a woman with a pan tells them to clear off. Also, another beggar wants some money for his kids to eat. He gets money too. The PCs use neither of them to ask for directions.
At Foreman's Alley, they meet Olbracht Viegerman and his anger at the situation. The first stake out doesn't go well - they see the pisser! It's a noble lady. She manages to get away into an abandoned house and disappears. A whole questioning situation comes next, which I'll compile in the form of a written montage:

• James questions the lady (Mentha) over the road. He very forcefully tells her he knows she did it and won't leave her close her door.
• Maku-Maku uses detect magic a lot to spy on the lady with magical ability.
• Hank and MM talk to some people in the bar, and one halfling will give them some info for 5gp. They don't oblige.
• James goes to get Gundra (Metha's husband) from the tavern to bring him home. He demands an egg and eats it from his stout. Eww. They take him back and she's angry at everything. They leave her.
• They do another stakeout and this time Hank waits in the abandoned house. The noble lady appears and Hank jumps her and pins her down. She wants to live! She's being forced to get married and needs some excitement. She gives him 23gp in a pouch and misty steps away. No one else sees anything.

Olbracht is kind of satisfied with the outcome. They give him the money and tell him to live his life. They'll be back in a week to check. Mission completed. Finally.
They head back to Castle Ardinham for the evening. Egoron tells them Thalia came back early and has summoned them. They're to have their welcoming feast! First they stop at the temple to fix Reginald's foot. They're welcomed by a Firbolg with a "may the blind overlord fill your eyes with integrity". He says it'll be 350gp for it to maybe work, or 500gp for it to deffo work. They leave it for now.
They arrive at the feast and Gadfort shows them to their head table. There are over 50 adventurers and staff in here. The table order on the head table is:
Maku, Joe, Hank, Tomben Ulrich, Thalia Oloren, James, Reggie, Lanstone Gringk, Egoron Lantaththar.
The PCs talk to the NPCs around them for ages. Thalia tells James about her self a little over some Coch la Potat (chicken and potato dish), as he also asks about the weddings happening with the large families in the city. She tells him of the Lockburns who own a walled small village at the north end of Norcastle that were putting up bunting and decorations, and the Bonnellon's who are elven and blonde towards the south side of town. Lanstone, sat next to Reggie, agrees to help him pay 500gp (10% interest) to fix his foot. They'll resolve it in the morning. 
Half way through the feast, Storm Oath return, and one of them is severed in half! They're taken out and Thalia leaves with them. The party restarts, and Joe skins snakes on the table and a few of them attempt to get some poison from them. They get 3 vials worth. Gadfort challenges them to some "foot battles" as he introduces them to the rest of the Dazzling Gang. The night peters out.
Back at the lodgings, Hank cooks up his brazier and makes a quazit called Angelo. He's cute and terrifying in one go. We leave it there as they rest at the end of their long day.

Rewards Granted

They received 28gp from the noble lady, but they gave it away.
They get unlimited bread from Kelpy.

Missions/Quests Completed

Two quests completed!

• They saved the baker's son
• They stopped the secret pisser from [probably] coming back

They were also awarded their first official contract: to find out what item that "bridges worlds" The Tainted are after and get it before them. They also decided to help the man lay his wife to rest in the mountains.

Character(s) interacted with

The players met a handful of Norcastle locals, including a halfling couple called Metha and Gundra, a load of beggars, Olbracht Viegerman (the angry 8 foot goliath).
At the castle, they met the firbolg at the temple, Lanstone Gringk for the first time, and Tomben Ulrich again.
Our heroes met Thalia Oloren for the first time and learnt a little about her, while also receiving a quest.
