Amn and Muranndin were at war for over a decade. But this had little impact on Greyhaven, as both countries were oblivious to Greyhaven, with it’s natural borders of the forest and the mountains preventing exploration.
Previously Greyhaven was totally secluded from the surrounding region. Now the world of Toril is becoming aware of this diminutive country.
Amn and Muranndin were at war for over a decade. But this had little impact on Greyhaven, as both countries were oblivious to Greyhaven, with it’s natural borders of the forest and the mountains preventing exploration.
The many trading fleets of Amn started to notice the fishing boats from Gull Bay. Seeing this as an opportunity for trade the Amnians negotiated simple trade deals with the elders of Greyhaven.
The Muranndin fleet, having kept tabs on any movement of Amnian vessels towards their waters, noticed the new trading activity in Gull Bay. Wanting to ensure the Amn did not monopolise any trade opportunities they also established a trade deal with Greyhaven.
A prospector discovers the abundant seam. He visits it regularly and trades with locals. A few other locals start to mine it too. News of the seam spreads across Greyhaven over the winter.
Traders from Amn and Muranndin expand their trade options to include the newly found geological resources.
Harold and Frank Cornley arrive in Greyhaven and each persuade one of the more materialistic local families (Lavender and Bronly respectively) to claim land near the geological deposits and establish 2 mining companies (Lavender Mining Company and Pinnacle Mines).
The mines are set up and Cragside is established. Also, Gull Bay expands and Newmart and Highton are started.
Concerned by the vast profits being made by the 2 privately owned mines, a group of locals (including Albus Brandybarrel, the prospector who discovered the seam) established the Greyhaven Co-op Mining company.
