Warrior Class

The warrior group encompasses the character classes of heroes who make their way in the world primarily by skill at arms: Fighter, Paladin, and Ranger.

If a warrior has a Strength of 18, they are allowed to roll percentile dice to determine exceptional strength. Exceptional strength generates a number from 01- 00, and is dentoed thusly: Baldric the fighter has a strength of 18. He rolls percentile dice and generates the number 64. His strength is noted as 18/64. The strength is greater than 18, but less than 19. A strength of 18/64 gives the warrior an additional +1 to hit and to damage. He is also able to carry 160 pounds, and bend bars 25% of the time.

For comparison purposes, an ogre has a strength of 18/00.

Warriors are allowed to use any weapon. They can wear any type of armor. Warriors get 1 to 10 (1d10) hit points per level and can gain a special Constitution hit point bonus that is available only to warriors. The disadvantage warriors have is that they are restricted in their selection of magical items and spells.

All warriors use Table 14 to determine their advancement in level as they earn experience points.

All warriors gain one 10-sided hit die per level from 1st through 9th. After 9th level, warriors gain iust 3 hit points per level and they no longer gain additional hit point bonuses for high Constitution scores.

Each fighter level of experience beyond 20 is an additional 250,000 experience points/level.
An additional 3 Hit Points per level are earned for each level beyond 20.

Each Paladin, Ranger, and Barbarian level of experience beyond 20 is an additional 300,000 experience points/level.
An additional 3 Hit Points per level are earned for each level beyond 20.

All warriors gain the ability to make more than one melee attack per round as they rise in level. The Level Improvement table below shows how many melee attacks fighters, paladins, rangers, and barbarians can make per round, as a function of their levels.
