Odekran (Oh-Deck-Ron)
History
The settlement started centuries ago when a troupe of illusionists found the land to be perfect for their new theatre. They employed the help of nearby farmers to create the Theatre of Lights with the promise of free entry as well as room to sell any wares or materials they had to tourists and visitors.
Over time, the farmers, while never quitting their main jobs, started to rely more and more on tourism and getting the word farther out to more customers. Essentially, these first investors are what sparked the interest in the shows as well as the wonderful acting by the initial troupe. They started to grow more and more renowned, particularly for their original screenplay: The Prophecy in the Abyss.
In the year 421 CY, the farmers and residents, who had decided to permanently stay, applied for village status with the Ahlissa government. It was approved. And with its approval, they created their own local government and started using federal funds to further develop the small village.
However, in the year 569 CY, tragedy struck as their small village was ambushed by a large raiding party of sahuagins. With little defenses, they were no match for the larger, brutal raiders who desecrated most of the village. While some survivors made it out alive, most went mad after some time due to unknown causes. While the theatre still stands, there are no current occupants with some fearing the legacy may be lost forever.
