ARCANE TESTING

A local arcane guild, wizard school, or similar institution realizes that a particular magic experiment poses a potential danger to nearby citizens. Most organizations in a city try to avoid conducting experiments this hazardous, but magic is not always an exact science, and the danger can arise when it is too late to abort. In these instances, organizations might alert the city government to the anticipated time of the experiment’s completion, allowing offi cials to evacuate nearby neighborhoods, or at least to post extra security and emergency personnel.
