Armies of Mur
Although the Muri are not an offshoot of the Baklunish people, they do embrace most aspects of Baklunish culture, and their geographical position in the northwest corner of the Baklunish Basin is a sufficient reason to include their meager forces here.
Peaceful by nature, Mur maintains but a small standing army. The primary strategy against invasion seems to be to retreat into the Verdant Heights and wait for the aggressors to leave the empty coastal cities. Although the Verdant Heights are home to large numbers of elephants that can be trained as pack animals and even for war, Mur does not do so. Rather, elephants are exported to other lands, such as Komal and Risay, who take it upon themselves to train the beasts.
As of CY 578, Mur maintains the following force:
• 1,000 medium cavalry with lance and bow, wearing chainmail
• 2,000 light infantry with longbow
Ghaznavid or Daylamid miniatures would be good for depicting Murian soldiers.
