Armies of the Pomarj

Even the larger humanoid tribes of the Pomarj are too numerous to describe comprehensively in an article such as this, and the smaller ones even more so. It is to the advantage of all their more civilized neighbors that these forces are usually involved in wars against one another.

Below is a breakdown of typical troop types for a given type of tribe. For larger or smaller groups, simply multiply or divide as needed.

Individual tribes may vary from these numbers slightly, but the following work as averages. Note that many tribes are led by evil humans, and will have spellcasters at their head, as well as occasional alliances with monsters such as ogres, trolls, giants, and the like.

It should also be noted that the exact weapons used are not usually relevant, aside from missile weapons. Thus, medium infantry with swords are functionally no different than medium infantry with pole arms; such distinctions are presented for those who want to add verisimilitude to their armies.

For every 100 xvarts, there will be:

Various miniature manufacturers make humanoid figures. Xvarts may be a problem, but one that can be solved by using goblins from a different manufacturer (so they have a different appearance), painted blue rather than yellow/orange/brick red, as goblins would normally be painted.
