Armies of the Rovers of the Barrens

Although they have seen several reversals in recent years, the Rovers of the Barrens have regained much of the former strength that was broken at the Battle of Opicm River, and once more are a formidable force.

As of CY 578, the Rovers themselves have a combined army consisting of the following:

• 10,000 light cavalry with lances and javelins, wearing leather armor

• 8,000 light cavalry with lances and bows, wearing leather armor

• 4,550 medium cavalry with lances, wearing splinted armor and shield

• 4,050 light infantry with swords; these are “wardogs” that are able to move as quickly as light cavalry and are trained to fight against mounted troops

In addition, allied tribes can supply the following troops:

• 2,000 light cavalry with lances and javelins, wearing leather armor

• 1,000 light cavalry with lances and bows, wearing leather armor

• 1,000 medium cavalry with lances, wearing splinted armor and shield

Mongol miniatures will suffice for the main body of Rover troops, although javelins will probably need to be added. The Wardog troops can be Russian or Hungarian soldiers.
