PARADE OR NOBLE/ROYAL PROCESSION

To celebrate a holiday or great victory, a coronation or a wedding—or simply to be seen by the populace—many nobles and royals take part in massive processions that wind through city streets. These might consist solely of the noble, his retinue, and his guards, or they might be much larger parades, replete with musicians, jugglers and other performers, and perhaps even animals. Although many citizens love the spectacle of a procession, it completely disrupts business and daily life in those districts through which it passes.
