The Armies of Badwall

The riotous Wild Coast is a collection of independent towns and cities, and thus its military is fragmented and often used against other towns in the region. While every village has a militia, they are usually quite small and not worth covering here. Note that mercenaries are used extensively, and the forces below could be as much as doubled or more by hired swords, who are common throughout the Wild Coast lands.

Badwall

can call upon the following troops at short notice:

• 100 light infantry with spears and shields

• 150 medium infantry with longbows, wearing chainmail

• 125 light cavalry with spears

• 150 medium cavalry with hand weapons, wearing chainmail and shield

The Wild Coast is a mish-mash of different cultures and peoples. It would be appropriate to create its armies with leftover figures from other armies, such as Feudal French and German, late medieval English, or early Italian renaissance.
