The Armies of Nyrond
The armies of Nyrond are on the march, in response to the provocations of the Overking and following the declaration of war against the Great Kingdom and its satellites. Noble contingents as well as the regular royal have been mobilized for the effort.
The Army of the North
is based in Rel Mord, but by the end of CY 578. Under the command of King Archbold (F16), with the generals Garzenth (F13) and Bellord (Cv14) as his sub commanders, it consists of the following troops:• 2,000 light cavalry with javelins and shields
• 3,000 medium cavalry with sword, mace, or axe, wearing chainmail and shield
• 5,000 heavy cavalry with lance and sword, wearing plate and shield (knights)
• 9,000 light infantry with spear and shield
• 7,500 human
• 1,500 gnomes
• 3,500 light infantry with longbows
• 2,000 human
• 1,500 elvish
• 8,000 medium infantry with hand weapons, wearing chainmail and shield
• 3,000 heavy infantry with pole arms, wearing plate mail
• 1,500 light infantry with sling and sword (hillmen scouts/ skirmishers)
• The Company of the Cauldron
(mercenaries, colors are black and red)• 300 light foot with spear and shield
• 500 medium foot with hand weapons, wearing
chainmail and shield• 200 heavy foot with pole arms, wearing plate mail
The Army of the South
is commanded by Earl Harhing (Cv14) and is based in Innspa. It is expected to cross the Harp river to support the movement of the combined Nyrondese/Almorian force early in CY 579. It consists of the following troops:• 3,000 light infantry with slings and swords (skirmishers)
• 1,500 gnomes
• 1,500 halflings
• 2,000 light infantry with longbow
• 1,500 human
• 500 elvish
• 4,500 light infantry with spear and shield (levies)
• 4,000 heavy infantry with sword, axe, or mace, wearing plate mail and shield
• 2,000 heavy cavalry with lance and sword, wearing plate mail and shield
It should be noted that some 10,000 elite infantry from the two Urnst states are expected in Rel Mord by the onset of winter, and these troops will be deployed as reserves to back up the forces invading South Province. In addition, the following units remain in the north and west of the country, to serve as garrisons:

is the base of a mercenary company known as theValiant Brothers
(colors are silver and green), which serves as a general reserve fort he whole of Woodverge and Gamboge, consisting of:• 200 medium infantry with sword, mace, or axe, wearing chainmail and shield
• 100 light cavalry with spears
• Kerrinn
• 30 medium infantry with longbows and swords, wearing chainmail
• Curtulenn
• 25 light cavalry with javelins and shields
• Hammersend
• 20 medium infantry with longbows and swords, wearing chainmail
• 35 light cavalry with javelins and shields

• 45 light infantry with axe (woodsmen)

• 40 medium infantry with longbows and swords, wearing chainmail
