This collection of adventurers, bounty hunters, and more are loosely managed by guildhalls in major cities across the Flaeness.
Function
The Mercenaries' Guild provides various services for the people of the Flaeness. Monster extermination is probably the most common kind of mission the guild accepts, but bodyguarding, excavation, retrieval, and even espionage requests are also accepted. The guild stoutly denies accepting assassination or bounty-hunting missions, claiming to defer these matters to law enforcement, but rumours persist that these affairs are simply handled at the backdoor.Core Tenets
The guild has few uniting principles, but most members agree on the following:- You are only as good as your reputation.
- Competence is more valuable than money or social rank
Hierarchy
The guild has ranks, and some make a career out of rising through them. For others, rank is incidental. Higher ranks are granted an insignia, usually on a badge or other small, wearable item, such as a bracelet or pin. 17th level, slay a monster of CR 14+ | Penannular Pin featuring a sword crossed with a mace | 50% discount on all training costs, command of guild forces within a region. |
