Kyo
(a.k.a. The Mother of Monsoons, The Lady of Storms,)
Kyo is the disputed Orisha of Life and the orisha of the Southern River. She is also seen as a trickster as she tricked her sister into feeding the Orishas, Olotongo her ear and caused her to get ousted from his lands. Kyo is said to have been drowned in the river by Olotongo when he found out about her treachery. Her mantle as the trickster god seems to have been passed to their son, Changua.

Divine Symbols & Sigils
Kyo has two symbols that are used by her worshipers:
- The Old Copper Sword is a symbol of the sword that Kyo's nine children found buried in her chest. It is said when that when her nine children laid Kyo to rest in the stream that it began to rush with water and becoming the strong river it is today.
- The Fly Whisk, made with ox, buffalo, or horse tail, they have the purpose of: turning away the spirits to their sacred space; eliminate adversity in the community; and to attract plenty and prosperity. In some instances Kyosi nobles use them as status symbols, using them also to ward off flies.
