Architecture
The architecture of Soyesi is unique in the fact that the town is built on the face of a mountain and all of the houses are tightly packed together making it a maze of sorts. All of the structures are painted in a whitewash possibly to honor Jidè who was said to be an albino. Almost all public structures are marked with Jidè's face above the entrance. The Temple of Jidè that sits at the highest point of the town is carved into the mountain, similar to the First Palace of Exiles but the architecture is starkly different. The face of the temple has six statues, three on each side of the entrance, that are carved as different effigies of the orisha of death.
