Brash Busters

Brash Busters are similar to Earth's katar or brass knuckles. However, instead of being gripped by your fingers, the weapon lays around your wrist like a thick, tight handcuff, and can release a single, large blade that not only covers the back of the wielder's hand and juts out a bit more past the knuckles, but also looks too large to actually fit in the bracelet in the first place. They are known to be quite energy-filled, which ends up making them overheat if the blade absorbs too much kinetic energy. After-so, the blade tends to unstably release the energy in the form of miniature explosions, which harms not only whatever the blade is hitting, but even the wielder as well.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Currently, they are a thick bracelet filled with arcane energies and a few mechanisms. The first is a latch connected to a long, metal bar with spiny edges. If the latch is pulled, the bar comes out, causing gears to turn and to push out and release the blade, locking it in place. The latch and be reinserted, which will turn the gears backward and unlock the blade to be pulled back in. Once the blade is out, however, there is normally a tube made of a hollow gem running through the blade. Once it comes in contact with air, it starts absorbing kinetic energy, and transforming it into a chosen Elements  that each Brash Buster has built in. The elemental energy is then pushed into the blade, which normally overheats as it tries to expel the energy. Said energy releases when the blade comes into contact with something, however, it isn't very stable, and causes little explosions that harm the wielder and the target. The blade can cool down when being put back into the chamber.

Significance

They were some of the first excavating tools that eventually turned into weapons. They are now used for sparring.
