Chroako

Chroako (pronounced croak-oh) are special mammals in the north that have unique hooves made for rushing around in snow, with the rest of their bodies built for the cold. While it seems odd, their muscles, which is a good amount of what they have, seem to give off heat to a slight degree. The only way to feel that, however, is by touching a Chroako through its fur. Aside from that, since their hooves are great at clopping through tough terrain, they are mainly used as mounts to pull or ride around on through the frozen wastes.

Anatomy

They tend to be built like an ox, but more muscular and have more fur. Their muscles are powerful and can sometimes be seen, specifically in their legs. Their hide is tough and thick, being hard for normal teeth and fangs to dig into. Their hooves are made of keratin and are a lot like meat tenderizers, but bigger to fit their size. Said hooves help them move along tundra and taiga biomes, able to crunch and dig into the snow to stably stand and pass through and sometimes even dig.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Due to its amazing ability to smell, the Chroako are able to smell through the snow any food they might need, such as special herbs that only they can stomach, which aids in their muscle growth.

Domestication

They tend to be easily domesticated with semi-little work. Although they can't exactly learn things, they seem neutral on some things getting on top of them.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

They are mainly used for traveling, but sometimes they can be suited for war, shaved for warm clothes, or slaughtered for meat in the more desperate of times.

Facial characteristics

Their faces look akin to an elephant seal, but instead of blubber, it is mostly made of muscles and cartilage. They also have eyebrows that are more-so horn-like in structure.

They tend to live in snowy, cold areas, as their bodies are more built for it.

They don't have anything wrong with them, but their sense of smell is extremely good due to the size and shape of it. It goes as far as being able to smell all around them and tell which direction a smell is coming from.
