Gearja

Gearja are ursine like creatures. They walk on two legs, with their legs actually taking a bit of a kangaroo like aesthetic. They have wide hips and travel mainly via hopping. They have thick, curled tails to counter act their weight and posture. They also have a mane of fur going from the base of their tail up to the base of their neck. Oddly enough, they have a sort of rock like shell on their back and upper tail and butt.

Basic Information

Anatomy

These ursine, as listed above, have kangaroo like legs and a large, spring-like tail to help steady their balance. They have fur manes that run up and down their back, which actually hides glands inside. Humans would refer to it as 'secreting lava,' as there's glands down between their spine and their mane which produces magma. Said liquid fire seeps out from the mane, which seems to help either hide or push it out, and the lava slowly either drips down their back and hardens, or is outright grabbed by their claws and hurled at any threats.

Genetics and Reproduction

They reproduce in the spring, but the gestation tends to last until the beginning of fall.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They normally eat meat and eggs.

Biological Cycle

The Gearja's senses increase during the fall, which is around the same time that pregnancies after the mating season come to a close. After so, they tend to gather things excessively, perhaps for their children and themselves to survive the winter. Sometimes they even migrate north and south depending on the season to try to keep their temperature in check.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

They tend to live in deciduous forests.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Their senses are average compare to humans, except for two things. The first is that their mane can seem to sense threats before they can, and tends to bristle and leak said lava before something can properly attack. The second is that, a bit after mating season, all their senses heighten, presumed to be able to protect their young.
