Hand Mark

It took quite a while for this to be discovered, truly, and ironically the only ones who have the ability to use this are the most peaceful of all the races on Gry. You see, Hand Mark is actually a tattoo that gives magical abilities to the toddlers of the Exlio race, in attempts of trying to aid the toddlers in things they lack. Said things may be helping control thoughts, while others can be as extreme as giving a missing body part. Of course each case is different, but there are some general rules on how the apparently fickle Hand Marks work.

First and foremost, they can only be used to help people in need. The marks will not work on someone deemed healthy to them, which is strange given that the marks aren't actually living. Noting that, the government normally decides when to give individuals a Hand Mark, due mostly to the scarcity of the ink used for Hand Marks. There seems to be plenty to go around anyway, and said ink may be slightly stockpiled for future tests or entire generations that may have birth defects.

Second is the fact that each toddler can technically only have one Hand Mark. Although they may get several tattoos all over their body, the Hand Mark normally only aids one thing, that being their weakest ability. In fact, there have been tests to see what inking an entire body would have, and that brings it to rule number three. The tattoo has to be in an actual design. Some Exlios are trained just to be able to make tattoos that correspond with the ailment the toddler has.

Manifestation

The Hand Mark manifests itself in a tattoo, normally a special marking relating to whatever ailment the wielder may have. The color normally stands out against the fur and scales of an Exlio, choosing to be rather revealing to show that the mark is there. Despite it being taken by the same plant, the dye seems to choose the color itself, and those that create the markings for said tattoos say that they are mystically lead to make the certain pattern or mark.

Localization

The dye is actually farmed out of a specific flower that is known to only a few places, but one of the biggest places where it is farmed is in Exlios' country, Hrack , where swamp, beach, and rainforest seem to all convene at once, giving life to such a rare flora. Despite these conditions, it is still normally hard to farm it, as truly 'forcing' it to grow as a crop has lead to ill results, making the government instead choose to give it a 'preservation camp.' However, once the Hand Mark is actually on a person, it stays on them no matter where they go.
