The language itself was created by Chaos as a way to organize his thoughts and record the various things he did. It was later taught to the Unnamed Species atm through dreams, visions, and the purposeful placement of texts that contained (arguably) helpful or interesting information to encourage them to actually learn.

Expression of Emotion

They have an ossified hyoid apparatus like a cheetah/domestic cat/etc, so they can purr (and growl/hiss, but not roar), which to some degree can be layered over speech similarly to tone of voice (though tone of voice is still employed to some degree).
