Resolute
Resolute is a magical iron naginata that was created nearly 2,000 years ago by Mochizuki Hotaru.
After his entire family was brutally slain by demons, Mochizuki spent 20 hours cold forging this weapon from a meteor that crashed nearby on the night of the attack. It required another 20 hours to file and polish. The finished blade has a faint blue tint. Mochizuki then mounted it to its darkwood shaft and set out to track down the responsible creatures. He did not rest until all of them were violently sent back to the Abyss.
Mochizuki Hotaru never wielded Resolute again. When bandits attacked his community, he would drive them away with a wooden stick. But a hundred years after his death, the demons returned to try to eradicate his family again. Hotaru's descendant, Mochizuki Chiasa, picked up great-grandpa's dusty heirloom and drove them back. After that, she took Resolute and traveled across the land, protecting all she could from demons of any kind. Many people were saved, and Mochizuki Chiasa's legend grew. Unfortunately, she never had a family or an apprentice and the Mochizuki family line died with her. The blade passed into obscurity.
Unlike most magical items, Resolute was not enchanted when it was created. Instead, it received its magical effect as a boon from the god Tyr for Mochizuki's dedication to justice for his family. Mochizuki Chiasa only strengthened this effect. The weapon becomes more powerful as its wielder grows in status and achieves more good in the world.
Resolute is a +1 magical iron naginata that does 4d4+1 slashing damage. The other end of the handle is a mace head to counterbalance the heavier than normal blade. It does 1d6+1 bludgeoning damage.
As a cold iron weapon, it is poisonous to fey and infernal creatures. Any such creature hit with Resolute, must make a DC 15 CON saving throw or receive the poisoned condition (disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks) for the following round.
