Special Committee
The Special Committee is one of the younger committees in Gyllis. Created by Marsha P. Adams, also known as the Dragon of Gyllis, in 613 PC, the committee is celebrating its 10 year anniversary. The committee was designed as both a fun way to pass the time, but more importantly as a way to annoy the Committee Committee as well as the Inspection Committee from Octus.
The mission of the Special Committee is simple. Members of the Special Committee, known as Agents, will select a random citizen within Gyllis to be the Committee’s liege for the day, though citizens of Gyllis can decline the position if they chose to, and another will be randomly selected. If Octus’ Inspection Committee is present, the chosen citizen must be one from their number, and there is no declining the position. After selection, members of the Special Committee must surround and protect their liege at all costs. This means following them everywhere, sending agents ahead of them to clear areas from any threats, making sure no one untrustworthy approaches them, and so on. The goal of this mission is to protect their liege from their sibling committee, the Assassin Committee.
The Assassin Committee’s mission is to, through whatever means they like, “kill” the Special Committee’s liege. A kill is achieved by getting paint anywhere on the target's center of mass, hits to the target’s head mean disqualification, and hits to the target's limbs are not seen as lethal enough for the “kill” to count. Agents of the Assassin Committee have achieved this over the years in a number of different ways ranging in sophistication, from simply slinging paint at the target, to more cunning methods, such as bribing someone close to the target to “kill” the target for them since the Special Committee’s Agents would let them past their guard.
When the Inspection Committee is in Gyllis however, the game changes slightly. While both committees missions remain the same, bonus points are given to the agents on both sides that can be the most disruptive to the Inspection Committee without causing outright harm.
If the random citizen of Gyllis chosen is from the Committee Committee this same side mission applies, as well as the rule that the citizen can not refuse being the Special Committee’s liege.
