Unicorns are native to
Euphoria. And although rare, they can also be found grazing anywhere there is grass, where the pure of heart can find them.
Qualified Invisibility
The visibility of a unicorn is determined from the Holy/Void axis of the viewer. This is commonly called your “Alignment” but it has no actual moral relevance.
- If you are fully aligned to Holy, all unicorns are visible. The unicorn is aware that you can see it.
- If you are >=90% aligned to Holy, unicorns are about 50% visible. The unicorn may not be aware you can see it, offering an opportunity to sneak-attack.
- If you are <80% aligned to Holy, unicorns are fully invisible.
Magical Abilities
Unicorns have extraordinary magic powers, but the mind and temperament of a grazing animal. They are able to phase through fences, and tend to respond to predators with the spell [Noodle Legs], which renders you immobile for a while. The effort required in farming unicorns contributes to the rarity and cost of
Unicorn Meat as an industry.
Combat
When a unicorn is aware that you can see it, it becomes hostile. It turns to face you and produces a battle whinney (war neigh? offensive nicker?). It attempts to gore you (holy damage). In this stage, if the player does damage, the unicorn casts a Holy area attack, followed immediately by a ranged [Noodle Legs]. If [Noodle Legs] succeeds, it will escape combat.
Once it has taken enough damage, the unicorn enters second stage. The rainbow mane starts to glow to the MAX. Lisa Frank rainbow sparks start shooting out. The unicorn slowly levitates off the ground and hovers in an homage to Dragonball Z. Intense music plays. We'll play this hard for laughs.
The unicorn floats to a position sufficiently distant, but on LOS with the player. It rears its head, its eyes and horn glow, and it unleashes a bullshit oversized rainbow beam attack like...
Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 All Beam Struggles. This is followed by a "down time" where the unicorn can be attacked.
In this stage, you do a lot of dodging. Let's give it up to 3 types of attack, which require different responses. Jump to avoid. Cower to avoid. Or run in a circle to avoid. Each has a particular effect.
As a Mount
Once defeated, you may mount and ride the unicorn, or kill it. Once released, it runs off toward the nearest woods. It will attempt to gore you if you are in the way.
Drops
When dead, it drops Unicorn Meat. The same rules that govern unicorn visibility apply to this drop as well.
