Adamantium
Adamantium, also known as Giant's Iron, is over twelve times as heavy and durable as iron- making it heavier than Osmium (the heaviest and densest possible stable synthetic metal) and more durable than tungsten. The fact that it also remains as flexible and moldable as iron and shares a similar melting temperature makes it uniquely useful for crafting tools. What does not make it useful is its weight - a pure adamantine weapon is terrifying in its power but requires herculean strength to use with finesse. One square inch of adamantium (a cube roughly a nickel one each side) is a little over 3 pounds (heavier than a two-slice toaster).
To compensate for this, smiths of many cultures have taken many approaches. Some have worked with mathematicians and specialists to create tools that best utilize the greater weight of adamantium. Others have instead created a series of alloys- blood steel, rust steel, red bronze- to try and find the perfect ratio that can keep adamantium's strength while reducing the weight.

Properties
Material Characteristics
Adamantine ore appears jet black, though it turns rust-red when exposed to intense heat. The raw ore often appears in smooth bubble-like shiny black blobs embedded in stone; the forged metal appears rust-red.
Geology & Geography
Adamantium is found around the world in small amounts (it is slightly less common than gold), but major deposits have been found in a few select locations: Traya (Desmia), Hadara, (Desmia ), Zirata (Sonev), Inland Ziota (Sonev), Anvata (Sonev), Severzel (Garadel ), and Reletas (Maradia). As can be seen, Sonev and Desmia have the largest concentrations of adamantium in the world, easily dominating both the trade and craft.
History & Usage
Cultural Significance and Usage
In Desmian folklore, adamantium is made when a true hero spills their blood to sanctify the earth, transforming the metal to become part of their sacred body. As such, it is given a sacred quality, and holy weapons or instruments of adamantium are particularly sacred. In Sonevan folklore, adamantium is seen as a iron from the ancient Golden Age, when all mortals were strong and youthful- and is seen as particularly pure and must be handled ritualistically to preserve its purity.
Stildane, Garadel, Inahng, Ekraht, and many other lands see Adamantium as "Giant Iron", the metal of thegreat magical giants that live in the deep arctic and antarctic.
