The Western Rootlands holds 7 Mining districts, each overseen by their own magistrate, and each with their own unique history and specialty. With all the opportunity and wealth of the Western Rootlands, the mining districts play a major role in how the West has prospered and gained power and recognition by the rest of the kingdom.
Districts:
- 1ST MINING DISTRICT
The First Mining district of the Western Rootlands. Is the least active mining district in the Territories, since it’s lands have been disputed between the North and Western Rootlands for generations. The trade off from one Rootland to another has destabilized the area to mining operations.
- 2ND MINING DISTRICT
The second Mining district is the smallest mining district of the Western Rootlands. Formally part of a much larger minding district, the boundaries were re-drawn after a noble family which owned much of the land generated too much trouble for the Rootlord, that they split the land to appease them. Now the Mining District is the smallest, and most exclusive. To have rights to mine in the District the family-run operations and regulations must be strictly adhered to.
- 3RD MINING DISTRICT
The 3rd Mining district is home to the deepest vertical dig mine in Halvishlan called The Hellmouth Mine. The contents of the mine are ore and gems, however its workers are sworn to a set of non-discloser agreements to work in the mine, as it's exports are government-funded and guarded under strict enforcer guard at all times.
- 4TH MINING DISTRICT
The 4th Mining District houses the Glittering Gemstone City and mines of Undarr. The deep and branching mines of the city and it's surrounding mountain region produces the most envious and diverse of gemstones. Gemstone Elite and refineries are on full display in this district. As seen my it's massive glittering city, waterways and gem-adorned people.
- 5TH MINING DISTRICT
The 5th Mining district is the most prestigious. Known as the gateway to the Western Paxitari Tribal lands, and Home of the Western Rootland District City Seat of Japhoon, It is the most heavily populated and yet the least mined district. Though some older tunnel systems were once dotted through the district, the practice was restricted in the district by decree of the Rootlord except by those given permission to mine in smaller scale operations. This gave rise too many gold panning and refineries, GemSmiths and artisans taking up the region over the mining itself.
- 6TH MINING DISTRICT
The 6th Mining district is the largest of the 7 districts within the mining regions. It's close proximity to the center mass of the Dragonspine Mountains makes for excellent rock quarry and stone exports. Although it has been prone to the odd vain of ore it's main export is that of marble and expensive stone.
- 7TH MINING DISTRICT
The last and final mining district within the Western Rootlands is known best for it's snow-cavern ore called Mismarrian Iron, The unique running off from the highest peaks of the Dragonspine mountain has littered the region with pockets of underground water caverns and dripping stalactites. These dripping formations have created a rust-like algae that alters the properties of the iron pulled from the area, this ore is easier to enchant and is highly sought after for crafting enchanted rune plate, armor, and weapons. However it is dangerous to mine, as the water and darkness of the cavers have bred odd creatures and dangerous slick environments.
