Queen Dasin's Order
Benevolent Rulers
-We can't tolerate these arrogant assholes anymore!-Indeed! Set them on fire!-Who do they think they are?? Invading our land, asking for tribute?-We must kill them all!!
The Irem Kingdom has been ruled by Queen Dasin's descendants since the beginning of time, according to The Green Abyss myth. Most subjects are loyal to them, as the royal family holds both the right to the throne and the leadership of the religion in honor of the goddess Vinmar.
Vinmar before she blessed Queen Dasin
The ruler of the Irem Kingdom is in charge of caring for the wellbeing of the subjects, protecting the traditions surrounding Vinmar's tributes and the expansion of the Kingdom. The people approve of the last activity, because they always want more lands to farm, cheaper workforce, and more resources to exploit. The problem is that their neighbors are not that keen to summit to the Irem Kingdom and their "blessed" Rulers.
The Irem Kingdom's history is full of bloody battles, magnicides, revenge and an unusual luck that has always kept a descendant of Queen Dasin on the throne. No matter what happens, who is killed or when that happens, there is always someone in the family blessed with the ability to survive the Funeral and Coronation rituals just as the first Queen did millennia ago.
Structure
-I hate that their soldiers are so good at what they do. It's so hard to kill them.-I hate the Guardians even more, they always get away with all their plans.-The Priests are the worst. They charm everyone with their songs and pretty dresses.
The order's efforts are applied to the management of the Kingdom and the success of their current leader. This translates in keeping the rulers and their children alive, and the subjects satisfied and obedient to their leaders. In order to achieve these goals, the order has three public branches:
The Army
This branch has the honor to protect by any means the Royal Family and fight the battles to expand the Irem Kingdom and oppress any ideas of rebellion or if some delegate forgets to pay tribute. The soldiers must pass many trials and training to get a place in the army, but once they do, they enjoy many benefits that compensate all the sacrifices they have to endure.
The Guardians of the law
They occupy an important place in the Kingdom as they are the ones in charge of dealing with issues such as the tribute system, trade, and making sure their subjects are well-fed and have their basic needs satisfied. They are neither good with weapons as are strong as the soldiers, but they possess other qualities: intelligence, diplomacy and listening to the people. Just like the soldiers, they also go through a training and trials to obtain a position in this branch.
The Priests
The last branch of the order but not least important involves keeping the followers of Vinmar's faith focused on the Royal Family. They succeed in this endeavor, mixing up entertainment and fear. Loyal followers occasionally take part in opulent ceremonies, designed to appeal to the different social groups hosted by the priests. A traitor is captured, tortured and after their death their soul remains in eternal damnation. The Priests are the most highly trained out of the three branches, the best rewarded and the most powerful.
Invincible?
- King Ilen died suddenly, and his 10-year-old kid is our new King?-You saw it with your own eyes. King Ori survived the coronation ceremony.-It must be true, then. They are blessed by Vinmar.-I don't care! They are still arrogant assholes!
Whenever they go, they conquer. To acquire new subjects, lands and resources, it looks almost effortless to Queen Dasin's Order. Even they've had some awful Kings or Queens, Vinmar still blesses them and the people still worships them. For a long time they have ruled. Will someone be able to defeat them? And the most important question: How?
