Inspiration

EARNING INSPIRATION

Inspiration is earned by doing awesome things. Inspiration is earned by showing your character's background, personality, bonds, & flaws. Blessings & curses are often earned during random encounters.   Inspiration is use it or lose it. At the start of each session, all inspiration points are lost. Then a D20 roll is made by all players. High roller gets 2 points of inspiration - all those who tie for highest roll get 2 points.   Each character can have a max of 3 points of inspiration at a given time. Points gained beyond 3 are lost.

SPENDING INSPIRATION

Before a D20 roll is made by a player, that player may spend an available inspiration point to gain advantage on the roll.

BLESSINGS

Blessings are similar to inspiration, but they are specific to the type of roll. And spending them is compulsory, not optional. So if you have an attack blessing, you must spend it on your next attack roll to gain advantage.   Normally after a single use, a blessing is consumed. But if you score a natural 20 on the D20 roll, the blessing is not lost. You can have an unlimited number of blessings, but all blessings are lost at the beginning of each session, just like inspiration.

CURSES

Curses are similar to blessings in that they are specific to the type of roll. And spending them is compulsory, not optional. So if you have an save curse, you must spend it on your next saving throw to gain Disadvantage.   Normally after a single use, a curse is consumed. But if you score a natural 1 on the D20 roll, the curse is not lost. You can have an unlimited number of curses, but all curses are lost at the beginning of each session, just like inspiration.

COMBINING INSPIRATION / BELSSINGS / CURSES

They cannot be combined. If an inspiration point is spent on a roll, a blessing or curse does not apply. If both a blessing and a curse apply to a single roll, they cancel and are both consumed.
