Lay Member
A lay member is a non-ordained member of a religion. It is not actually a title, but all ordained members would come from this pool of people.
Within the lay membership, there is an unofficial hierarchy, in the following order: * rich and politically powerful members * longest standing members, with the longest memberships measured in generations * members that contribute time and effort to church endeavors * lowest in the hierarchy are new members
