Earlin Mountain
The Earlin Mountain is the shortest of the three mountains in the region of Penchester.
The river Ave has its source under the mountain, and is the only known hot water spring in Tightland.
Due to its strategic shape and position, it also houses the oldest part of the Imperial Halls, consisting of the keep, lodging and dungeons and other Regal architecture.

Geography
The mountain consists of who different stone formations, the first being a stout pillar of solid, gray-white-mottled rock, the other being a ramp of softer, layered rock leading out toward the sea.
Ancient depictions appear to display the mountain, together with the two other Penchestrian mountains, capped with snow.
This is unlikely, since Earlin has always been warmed by the geological activity beneath it, making it the only area in winter that remains untouched by snowfall.
Other ancient depictions show a waterfall running down the steep front of Earlin to be the source of Ave, though this may have been a symbolic embellishment.

Fauna & Flora
The mouth of the spring is surrounded by many unique plants which cannot be found anywhere else in Tightland.
Natural Resources
Apart from the hot water, Earlin has little to offer in terms of resources, mainly due to the solid rock formations.
It does, however, form a natural defence structure, which is why the Palace Castle was originally erected there.
Its height is short enough to drill a well though the soft rock of the ramp, yet tall and steep enough to be nigh impossible to attack from any other side.
