The Elves: Death-Obsessed Forest Dwellers
prideful, secretive, and primal, Elves remain cloistered in their vales and forest homes, communing with their Dead. When the Grim Covenant was made the Elves embraced every part of it: the Dead and the power. Elven life centers around their Dead. Those low born who die are used as undead servants and workers while the high born and knowledgeable who die their skulls are kept and placed in the elves' library like catacombs where their knowledge, memories, and life can be accessed over and over again.
The elves are seen as morbid and alien by the other races especially by the dwarves who despise the elves. Their cities are made of bone, crawling with their Dead, and fueled with strange magics. They readily embrace the Covenant and everything that comes with it. Primal and bestial in some ways, the Elves reside in Fal Morum, the Forest of Graves.
